"Kaila" - Crowsnest Pass, AB, June 2012
I absolutely love the colours in this photo. This was taken this summer during our short music film shoot featuring a local band I fell in love with at Folk Fest in 2011 . My friend Kaila was our actor and is pictured above. She is waking up from a nap in the forest. I really hope we can finish the final edits on the project and perhaps showcase it somewhere. It was super fun developing the creative concept and I was lucky to have friends who helped bring the story to life.

"Zoey" - Sunalta station, Calgary AB,  Feb. 24 2013

Photo in a Tub has already suffered through a hiatus this month. Looking back at old memories has been hard lately and so a friend recommended the simple act of taking photos again to have the choice to choose from the new instead of the past. For now,  I'm content with the idea.  The friend who suggested this concept is pictured above. She asked me to take headshots for her new CBC blog on living in the neighborhood of Sunalta. This photo is obviously overexposed. But playing around with overexposed photographs is kind of fun...! I'm looking forward to taking random photos again.

"The Wheelbarrow" - Stanley Park, Calgary, AB, June 2009
This has to be one of my personal favourite "in-the-moment" photos I've ever taken. I was bbq'ing with some friends in Stanley Park. Along the pool, I spotted this man pushing this kid in a wheelbarrow. It looked like it was the kid's every day way of getting around but to me it looked so unique!
"Oh, it's wheelbarrow time, no big deal".

"Photoshoot" - September 2011,  Airdrie, AB
I like the airbrush look of this non-edited photo! A couple of friends and I were helping a photographer friend of ours with his vintage photoshoot. We had access to a sweet 1950s collection car. The man who owned the car let us shoot everything on his acreage in Airdrie, AB. It was horribly windy and cold but we had a blast. Pictured here is the photographer friend, Eymeric, freezing his ass off, seeking shelter under his Nikon cape (let's call it that).

"Angel & Angela" - October 2010, Calgary, AB

Meet Angel Guerra & Angela Dione, creators of Market Collective
Wonderful ladies with a passion for keeping the arts community going here in Calgary. I had fun chatting with them and snapping photos of 'em two. Here, they are pictured at their very own photo booth, hay-themed just in time for the fall 2010 MC. Good memories...

"Ski Trip" - Fernie, BC,  end of December 2012
I just love the spontaneity in this photo. This was during a ski/snowboard trip to Fernie, BC to celebrate New Years'. I had a blast and will always remember the good times and the good company during this trip.

"Carmichael's" - Louisville, Kentucky, October 2010

I ended up in Louisville, Kentucky for the National College Convention in October 2010. At the time, I was Arts Editor for The Reflector – our university's newspaper.

One night, we left our busy seminar-filled days behind and wandered to the "Highlands"- a hip neighborhood with cafes and restaurants just to my taste.

We walked into this cosy little bookshop that was next to a place called Ramsi's Cafe  on the World.  I loved it so much – not to mention the architecture is so old and beautiful – that I wanted it memorized.

Carmichael's is known as Louisville's oldest independent  bookstore.

How cool is that?

"Jumping Bus" - London, England, August 2012

The story behind this stale photo is more of an inside joke that I solely found amusing at the time. My boyfriend and I were at the top of Tower Bridge in London and, in there, they had this fabulous little exhibition on past Olympics and interesting and often humorous facts about the Tower Bridge.

This one was my favourite! I can't stop laughing at the little bus jumping the opening Bridge!

"Guinness Factory" - Dublin, Ireland, August 2012

Oh Dublin, you have my heart. I absolutely loved Dublin. I would go back in a heartbeat. While there, I went to the Guinness Storehouse (duh!) – the highest building in Dublin, believe it or not, which is shaped like a pint of Guinness.
While the factory tour was more of a museum experience (you don't really get access to the ACTUAL beer making process which was kind of a bummer), you DO get a free PINT of Guinness at the Gravity Bar located at the very top of the Storehouse offering panoramic views of the city. It was like working your way up to Guinness drinking heaven.
